Powder Coating Equipment

As an alternative to traditional wet paint solvents, Powder coating is an ecologically safe way to apply paint.

When using traditional 'wet' paints, solvents are added to the paint to transform it into a liquid, becoming sticky and adhering to the surface of the needed item or object.

Powder coatings function differently because only the solids are sprayed or applied to the item in an atomized powder spray. An electric charge is provided to the powder during spraying, allowing it to be pulled to the product.

After the piece has been suitably coated, it is baked in an oven to roughly 200 degrees Celsius, together with the powder coating. This allows the powder layer to fuse and melt onto the product, resulting in a durable, smooth, and robust coating.

Powder coating provides a variety of advantages, including the following:

o Excellent quality

o The procedure is amenable to automation.

o The capacity to recover

A powder coated product's exceptional quality is immediately apparent. It has a smooth look and preserves the object by establishing a sealed paint shell around it, which considerably minimizes corrosion and gives exceptional scratch resistance.

The simplicity with which the process may be efficiently automated reduces labour needs.

Any overspray may be collected and re-used in automated systems thanks to powder use. When using traditional 'wet' paint spraying, up to 50% of the paint is wasted and is not recovered. Because extra powder can simply be retrieved and re-applied to another product, powder coating may help save a lot of money.

Two key pieces of equipment must be used to apply powder coatings successfully:

o Spraying booth

o Curing oven

A spray booth transports or ventilates overspray securely away from the operators and reclaims the powder for re-use.

The coated objects must be placed in a curing oven, then heated to fuse the powder onto the goods. Visit the Eptex coatings website for more details of Powder coating equipment.
